SEO PRICING

How Much Does SEO Cost?

Most of our ongoing SEO clients spend $1,300 per month or more. But $1,300 isn't a hard minimum, and we don't believe every business needs the same amount of SEO.

What you should spend depends on your website, your competition, where you want to rank, and how much work it's actually going to take to get you there.

SEO PRICING

Not Every Business Needs $1,300 a Month in SEO

Imagine you're a solo hairstylist in Tucson. You probably don't need to rank everywhere from Marana to Vail. Even if we could get you there, would it help your business enough to justify the cost?

Probably not. Your time is limited, there's a practical limit to how many clients you can serve, and most people aren't going to drive across Tucson when there are plenty of hairstylists closer to home.

A focused local SEO campaign might make much more sense. The same can be true for niche businesses, small service areas, unusual products, and businesses where there simply isn't enough useful SEO work to justify a larger monthly campaign.

We don't want to invent work just to fill a package.

COMPETITION

Why Some SEO Campaigns Cost More

Competition is a big part of it. Lawyers, plumbers, HVAC companies, real estate businesses, certain medical practices, drug rehabilitation centers, roofers, and similar businesses can face dozens of established competitors fighting for the same searches. See more about why SEO pricing varies.

There is simply much more work involved in getting that type of website to rank.

And more competition doesn't mean anyone can promise where you'll end up. No legitimate SEO company can control Google's search results. We explain that in more detail in Can an SEO Company Guarantee Results?

Getting a local business from page three to page one in a moderately competitive market can be a very different project from trying to move a law firm, HVAC company, or medical practice into search results dominated by established competitors that have been investing in SEO for years.

There isn't a special "lawyer price" or "plumber price." They're simply difficult search results to compete in.

STRATEGY

The Website and the Strategy Matter Too

A ten-page service business website doesn't have the same needs as a 5,000-product ecommerce store, but even two similarly sized service websites can require very different strategies.

One business might need technical cleanup, stronger service pages, and better local optimization. Another may need an entire search funnel built around its most important services, with supporting content clusters that cover related questions and longer-tail searches, then strategically link those pages together to strengthen the primary commercial pages.

Geography can add another layer. A business trying to compete in one part of Tucson has a very different project from one trying to build meaningful visibility across Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita, and Green Valley.

Ecommerce introduces its own problems. A large store might need hundreds or thousands of product and category pages improved, structured data corrected, internal linking and category architecture rebuilt, duplicate or thin pages addressed, and crawl and indexing problems resolved.

The number of pages on a website matters, but it doesn't tell us how much SEO the business actually needs.

WHAT YOU'RE PAYING FOR

What Does Our SEO Work Include?

That depends on what your website needs.

We may work on technical SEO, page structure, titles and headings, internal linking, content, local search visibility, Google Business Profile optimization, structured data, ecommerce architecture, product optimization, crawlability, indexing, or website performance.

We may also tell you that something doesn't need to be done.

SEO has accumulated a remarkable number of checklists, automated reports, and recurring tasks over the years. We don't believe in doing something every month simply because an SEO package says we're supposed to.

The goal is to improve your visibility for searches that can actually help your business.

NO COOKIE CUTTERS

Do You Offer SEO Packages?

Not in the traditional sense.

We're not particularly interested in selling a Bronze package with 10 keywords, a Silver package with 20 keywords, and a Gold package with 40.

Google doesn't care which package you bought.

Two businesses spending the same amount of money may need completely different things. One may need substantial work on the website itself. Another may already have a strong website but need better content and local visibility. An ecommerce business introduces an entirely different set of problems.

We'd rather look at what you have, what you're trying to accomplish, and what stands between you and better search visibility.

Then we'll tell you what we think makes sense.

SMALLER PROJECTS

Can SEO Cost Less Than $1,300 Per Month?

Yes.

Most ongoing campaigns will be at or above that level, but there are businesses where a smaller campaign makes sense.

There are also projects that are unusual, interesting, or just sound like they'd be fun to work on.

Have something like that? Pitch us.

If we have the capacity, think we can genuinely help, and can come up with something that makes sense for your budget, you never know.

BIGGER CAMPAIGNS

Can SEO Cost More Than $1,300 Per Month?

Absolutely.

Competitive industries generally require more work. Larger websites require more work. Ecommerce can require considerably more work. Entering multiple markets or trying to compete across a large geographic area can require more work.

If your competitors have strong websites, years of established content, extensive search visibility, and businesses actively investing in SEO, getting into those results is going to require more than optimizing a title tag and writing a few blog posts.

We'll tell you that before you hire us.

SEO THAT MAKES SENSE

How Much Should You Spend on SEO?

Enough to realistically accomplish what you're trying to accomplish. And not more than makes sense for your business.

Sometimes that means a substantial ongoing campaign. Sometimes it means starting smaller and focusing on the searches and geographic areas that matter most. Sometimes the best answer may be fixing the website first and worrying about an ongoing SEO campaign later.

Tell us what you do, where you want to compete, and what you're trying to accomplish. We'll take a look and tell you what we think it will take.
